Violets plucked or daffodils
Fade beside their native rills;
Lilies crushed by careless feet
Droop ere Spring and Summer meet;
So thy flower of youth, too soon
Cropped before the strength of June,
No kind dew, no kiss of rain,
Makes to grow or bloom again.
